Dualbind is both a creative studio and a research laboratory.

Founded by a single individual, Keiji Sakamoto, as a “place”—an environment
—where creation and inquiry proceed side by side in the age of AI.

That said, It wasn’t launched with meticulous planning.
Nor is it built to sell works on a grand scale, or to research solely for the sake of writing papers.

Thinking about concepts, figuring out what to make and how... The process itself is already unbearably fun.

When making music, writing papers, or sparring with AI—
Honestly, being in the middle of creating is overwhelmingly more interesting than savoring the finished product.

Even as I write this text,
I’m playing the tracks from the double album currently in production,
listening to the whole thing.

That state alone feels like the peak.
It makes me realize that creative activity itself is one of humanity's greatest forms of entertainment.

I take the initiative to create the music I want to hear.
I invite players I love to participate, blending our tastes to make something even cooler together.

I utilize AI for drafts and quality improvement.
And when an environment works well, I try to share it as papers or know-how.

Yes, Here, there is no separation between making and thinking.

Thinking while making; making while thinking. That very oscillation is continuously recorded and updated.

That is the place called Dualbind.

Why a “place (environment)”?

As AI becomes everyday, many people feel like “we can do anything now.”
At the same time, more and more people find themselves unsure what they’re making, what they’re thinking, and where decisions are actually happening.
Getting answers quickly is not the same as being able to make what you truly want to make.

Dualbind was born from that discomfort.
Not as a way to create faster, but as a place to keep creating without breaking.
Here, humans pose the questions, try, fail, decide, and take responsibility.
AI supports that process — it is not the subject that holds decision-making power or responsibility.
The subject is always human.

About the word “OS”

Dualbind calls itself an “OS.” Here, “OS” is neither a software product nor a rebranding of ideology.
An OS, in the usual sense — like Windows / macOS / Linux — is the lower layer that manages boot order and boundaries so what runs on top doesn’t collapse.
Dualbind takes the name “OS” not to mass-produce answers, but to build an environment where the order of questions, decisions, and responsibility does not break — so creation and inquiry can continue, without stopping.
And so that the person creating does not lose sight of their own life.
