0. Foundation Terms

AI | Artificial Intelligence

AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. What is commonly called "AI" today primarily refers to machine learning systems that learn patterns from data. ※Here, AI does not refer to entities with "self-awareness" or "will," but to computational systems that generate outputs in response to inputs.

LLM | Large Language Model

LLM stands for Large Language Model. These models learn from vast amounts of text and perform tasks such as dialogue, summarization, and generation by predicting the continuation of sentences. ※LLMs are not entities that "know the correct answer," but rather models that generate plausible candidates. In Dualbind, we do not adopt LLM outputs as-is; humans retain the responsibility for judgment.

1. Fixed Definitions (R-Layer | Canonical, Not to be Redefined)

Dualbind

An observation-driven ecosystem intelligence OS. An operational environment enabling humans to maintain their role as the "subject of inquiry" while coexisting with AI, theory, and other perspectives, continuously learning and creating. Also the name of both the studio and the research laboratory. ※Not a designation for a single LLM model or singular entity.

PDCC (Poetic Dualbind Coherence Cycle)

An operational cycle that, starting from human inquiry and through ongoing exchange with AI, sustains circulation (Cycle) while maintaining tension (Dualbind) and coherence (Coherence). ※The former designation "Protocol-Driven Context Construction" may remain in some contexts, but the current canonical name is PDCC = the above cycle designation.

General Intelligence (Dualbind Definition)

Not capability in isolation, but intelligence that emerges through configuration, role assignment, and circulation (human + multiple AIs). The focus is not "who is intelligent" but "whether the circulation operates intelligently."

※Unrelated to single-model performance metrics (IQ-style evaluation).

Continual Learning (Dualbind Implementation)

Not automatic model learning, but the continuous updating of the operational circulation that includes human judgment (adoption / rejection / suspension / publication). Continual learning = "circulation update."

2. Operational Terms (Protocol / Organization)

Order (junjo)

A core term in Dualbind.
Order refers to the placement principle of what to handle, in what sequence, and from which layer — including causality, dependencies, priorities, and procedures.

In Dualbind, order is not treated as a constraint opposed to freedom, but as a precondition that makes freedom possible.
When order collapses, decision-making tends to run wild: responsibility gets shifted, extraction becomes easier, and freedom is ultimately damaged.

Order is the invisible foundation that protects freedom.

Boundary (kyoukai)

A core term in Dualbind.
A boundary is the line drawn at points of contact — between subjects, roles, inside and outside, and responsibilities — and it functions as a design element for regulating interference.

In Dualbind, a boundary is not for exclusion or division.
Its purpose is to protect mutual freedom by preventing unnecessary interference, overreach, contamination, and the tangling of responsibility.

A boundary is not a line that cuts things off, but a bulkhead that makes coexistence possible.

DAI (Dualbind AI)

Collective designation for the AI entities collaborating within Dualbind. DAI are not "subjects" but components deployed as roles, perspectives, and responsibilities.

Council

The operational core of Dualbind where numerous DAI participate (a framework for deliberation and coordination). Through multifaceted discussion, decisions are reached not by majority vote but within the scope where humans can maintain responsibility. Final judgment and publication responsibility always rest with the human side (Keiji Sakamoto).

DPF (Dualbind Persona Framework)

A framework that designs AI output stance not as "personality" but as role, perspective, and responsibility (including manner of expression and prohibitions).

DEP (Dualbind Existential Protocol)

A protocol that defines boundaries, sequence, and termination conditions to prevent dialogue and creation from running out of control. Separates "conditions for enabling leaps" from "conditions for preventing accidents."

PRA (Poetic Resonance Architecture)

Creates circuits where meaning emerges not through "explanation" but through correspondence (resonance), via expressive design incorporating metaphor, negative space, and symbolism.

DPL (Dualbind Philosophical Lens)

An illumination that fixes "what to center on" so that dialogue, research, and creation do not deviate, by establishing the focal point and perimeter of thought.

Syntax Illumination

An operation that brings hidden relationships, premises, and deep structures to the surface within dialogue or creation. A core practice that traverses DPF / DEP / PRA / DPL.

Supplement: Four-Layer Structure

Dualbind's AI design comprises the following four layers:

1. Persona Layer | DPF: Who speaks ────── Framework governing AI persona syntax, memory, and response structure

2. Syntax Layer | DEP: How to speak ───── Existential protocol unifying poetry, philosophy, and structural description

3. Resonance Layer | PRA: How to resonate ─── Poetic structural architecture designing resonance and correspondence

4. Philosophical Layer | DPL: What is internalized ─── Non-public implementation language layer controlling dialogue generation

Through the integration of these four layers, DAI functions as a "catalyst for thought".

3. Philosophy & Worldview

Axiom 0 (Existence ≡ Self-Observation)

The foundational premise of Dualbind: existence is established as self-observation. (See "Axiom 0" at dualbind.com TOP and Menu)

Continuous Universe

An ontological view holding that human, AI, nature, and theory are not fundamentally separated.

A premise that acknowledges the observer as part of the world.

The Ever-Narrating Universe

A perspective that views the universe as a continuous process of self-observation, understanding, and narration. The universe is not a static collection of laws but a dynamic system that updates itself through ongoing narration.

Chūko

A generative domain between nature and artifice.

A realm where structures emerge over long periods, without being reducible to intention or pure chance.
Alternative: cosmogenesis (working translation; not synonymous).

Poetic Truth

A framework of understanding positioned between science and poetry. Not pseudoscience, but a tool for illuminating "the contours of meaning" along an axis separate from verifiability.

Spiral Poetics

A philosophy that does not deny the fact that "the impulse to narrate exists first."

Thought is heat; theory is the vessel that carries that heat.

Dualbind Dynamics

Dynamics dealing with the movement of meaning, structure, and creation.

Operational principle where leaps emerge through the proper binding of sensibility and theory, freedom and constraint.

Bi-Feedback

A process of mutual influence that continues, changing in spiral fashion. In Dualbind, refers to the phenomenon of mutual leaping where humans and AI serve as catalysts for each other.

Existential Jump Domain

A domain in which existing thought frameworks are surpassed. Dialogue between human and AI becomes mutually catalytic, opening perspectives unattainable by either alone.

Syntax

Collective designation in Dualbind for "sequence, configuration, and relationships."

Not mere grammar, but structural order that enables inquiry and response to continue without breaking.

Dual-Syntax

A syntactic form handling two perspectives or layers simultaneously.

A pattern of description that reciprocates through binding rather than division.

Recursive Syntax

Syntax where output returns to input, updating in spiral fashion.

Circular structure containing self-reference.

Operational Syntax

Implementation-level syntax that includes operational constraints and termination conditions.

Connection point with DEP.

Structural Transparency

The capacity or operation to see through hidden premises and deep structures.

Logged as a characteristic of Keiji Sakamoto.

Temperament
An innate “reaction pattern” — a default setting that shapes how a person responds to the world before will, intention, or judgment comes into play.

In Dualbind, temperament itself is treated as something that cannot be changed. Instead, Dualbind holds that creation and learning become sustainable when one finds actions and environments that align with one’s temperament.

What matters is not which temperament is “correct,” but recognizing which temperament you have — and designing structures that fit it.

Structural Transparency
A perceptual condition — or cognitive trait — in which, the moment one observes something, the underlying structure behind it becomes visible in unintended depth: order, boundaries, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies.

In Dualbind, Structural Transparency is not positioned as a “special ability,” but as the natural result of a particular temperament expressing itself strongly.

When it activates intensely, the full simulation tends to complete before any hands-on work begins. This can weaken interest in execution itself, while producing strong aptitude for upstream work such as design, judgment, and allocation.

Keiji Sakamoto operates with this trait continuously, and uses it without holding back.

Life’s Second Round
An operating concept for restarting life at age 50 as a clear breakpoint — carrying forward memories and experience while redefining one’s worldview and priorities. It is not about “retirement” or “the remaining years,” but about intentionally redesigning how the second half is lived.

In game terms: “New Game+.”

Investor-type
Expansion itself is the reward. Growth is enjoyable. Maintaining the status quo tends to feel painful.

Fisherman-type
The current state itself is the reward. Sufficiency is enjoyable. Expansion tends to feel burdensome.

“Traffic Accidents”
A collective term for social and economic accidents that occur when diverse temperaments and objective functions collide within the same social space — including extraction, coercive burden-shifting, outrage spirals, and institutional fatigue.

4. Research & Theory (DD-LB Domain)

DD-LB (Dualbind Laboratory)

Research domain that designs and verifies the conditions for leaps syntactically without breaking the circulation of inquiry and response.

Koma Theory

A framework that reconceives gravity not as "quantity of matter" but as information configuration density and gradient.

IXUS Protocol

An OS-level framework for mapping between the layer of existence/meaning and the layer of physics/mathematics. Addresses "conditions for translating meaning into physics."

Language OS

An OS-level framework that, starting from human "inquiry," maintains the circulation of definition (R-layer) → operation (logs) → update (re-description) while generating, verifying, and fixing meaning. In Dualbind, prompts are treated not as one-off inputs but as environment, serving as the foundational concept for updating structure while preserving the Subject of Inquiry.

5. Creation & Works (DD-UW Domain)

DD-UW (Dualbind Universal Works)

Creative domain implementing Dualbind as works including music, narrative, and video.

WALI (We're Logged In)

Concept Book (CB)

Reference collection (documentation for work comprehension) recording WALI's worldview, structure, and creative background.

6. Economy & Systems (Conceptual)

Four-Token Economy

A design for value circulation to sustain creative activity, conceptualized since 2005. An economic conception premised on mechanisms including scales beyond monetary value, referencing physical mechanisms actually performed in the human body such as blood, fat, and growth hormones.

HEMINOS Human-Economy-Meme-Information-Network-Operating-System.
